Health and Wellness Benefits

SemiSouth’s group health plans have been designed to offer excellent health coverage and flexibility, making your health care easier to manage.  The beneifts listed below are part of SemiSouth’s benefits package.

Medical:

    • PPO plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi, allowing you access to the entire BCBS network.
    • Employee coverage is paid at 100% by SemiSouth.
    • Dependent coverage available for employee’s spouse and/or employee’s dependent children. 
    • Prescription benefit included. 
    • Co-pays for doctor visits.  80/20 plan with $250 deductible on other medical services. 
    • Eligibility – first of the month following first day of employment.

Dental:  

    • Plan through Principal Financial Group allowing you to see any dentist you choose.     
    • Employee coverage is paid at 100% by SemiSouth. 
    • Dependent coverage is available for employee’s spouse and/or employee’s dependent children. 
    • Preventive care is covered at 100% with no deductible. 
    • After $50 deductible is met, basic restoration care is covered at 80% and major restoration care is covered at 50%. 
    • Eligibility – first of the month following first day of employment.

Vision:

    • Plan through Humana includes an extensive network of providers.
    • Coverage available for you, your spouse, and/or your dependent children at minimal rates.
    • Low co-pay for exam, lenses, and frames.
    • Benefit available for contact lenses and laser eye surgery.
    • Eligibility – first of the month following first day of employment.

Cancer & Intensive Care:

    • Supplemental insurance plans through AFLAC.
    • Coverage available for you, your spouse, and/or your dependent children at discounted group rates.
    • Eligibility – first of month following first day of employment.

Life and Disability Insurance:

    • $115,000 Life Insurance coverage for employee – paid at 100% by SemiSouth.
    • Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage – paid at 100% by SemiSouth. 
    • Short-term disability pays a percentage of your base pay for up to 180 days.  This coverage is paid at 100% by SemiSouth.
    • Long-term disability pays a percentage of your base pay up and kicks in when short-term disability ends.  This coverage is paid at 100% by SemiSouth.
    • Supplemental insurance coverage is available for employees and their dependents.
    • Eligibility – first of the month following first day of employment

Flexible Spending Accounts:

    • Medical – save up to $2,500 per year on a pre-tax basis to pay for medical expenses not reimbursed by insurance.
    • Dependent Care – save up to $5,000 per year on a pre-tax basis to pay for child care expenses resulting from your working.

Retirement Benefits
401(k) Plan through John Hancock USA

    • SemiSouth matches 100% of employee contributions up to 4% of employee’s salary.
    • No vesting period.
    • Multiple investment options available through John Hancock USA with online access to account.
    • Elgibility requirements must be met before employee is eligible to enroll.

 

Work / Life Benefits

Paid Time Off:
SemiSouth values its employees.  In an effort to promote a good balance between work and personal life, we provide eligible employees paid time off for vacation, sick/personal leave, and holidays.

Educational Assistance:
Reimbursement for courses taken toward a master’s or doctorate degree program that is related to your current job.  More details may be obtained from Human Resources.
