Product Device Engineer

Summary:

This position is a member of the product engineering team focused on improving manufacturability of new and existing products.  This Product Device Engineer will design SiC rectifiers and JFETs to improve design robustness and identify areas for performance and yield improvement.  This Engineer will transition new SiC products into production, from conception and design through final test.

Responsibilities:

  • Design SiC rectifiers and diodes to improve performance and manufacturability.
  • Define device design requirements of new products to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify yield limiters on existing product families.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to identify key focus areas for improvement in process capability.  Evaluate impact of process improvements on
    device performance and yield.
  • Define experiments to verify design and process sensitivity.
  • Develop test plans to verify performance according to specifications and define statistic limits for spec sheets.
  • Coordinate qualification of new products. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with semiconductor device design, modeling and processing and familiarity with electrical and material characterization techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistical principles.
  • Familiarity with experimental design and statistical analysis. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in power device design and/or semiconductor product engineering.
  • Experience with wide band-gap devices, including SiC and GaN power devices.
  • Experience performing design and process FMEAs.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device modeling techniques and two-dimensional process and device simulation software.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability and design for reliability.
  • Experience with CAD layout of power devices, including diodes, FETs, and power device termination.
  • Experience with process development and process integration.
  • Familiarity with defect analysis tools and electrical and material failure analysis techniques.
