Test Engineer

Summary:

As a member of the product engineering team, this position will develop and support product testing and qualification to ensure that SemiSouth products meet or exceed customer requirements, both on-wafer and packaged power discrete components.   

Responsibilities:

  • Design test plans to verify device performance according to specifications.  Develop production test plans and continuously quantify and improve test throughput.
  • Evaluate test data from ongoing device production to verify conformance to specifications and yield requirements; summarize and report results and identify trends in performance.
  • Debug sources of test nonconformance, including tester hardware, test programs and device nonconformance.
  • Define and execute repeatability and reproducibility of test programs (gage
    R&R).  Define test control limits based on gage R&R results.  Define and execute tool calibration and repeatability sampling plans.
  • Maintain wafer-level and discrete package test equipment.  Identify and procure test equipment required to increase test capability and throughput.
  • Define test procedures for test operators.
  • Define and coordinate device qualification testing with external vendors and document qualification results.
  • Define production final test plans at assembly vendors.
  • Audit and verify external vendor conformance according to SemiSouth test specifications.
  • Disposition packaged devices based on results of assembly vendor test.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related subject
  • 2+ years of applicable experience including on-wafer (wafer-sort) and packaged device (final test) test and measurement techniques, high volume process monitoring systems, inspection systems, and power component or power module production.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis techniques, including charting, tabulating and reporting.  Strong mathematical and problem solving skills.   Experience with statistical analysis, statistical process control, including control limits and gage R&R of test equipment.
  • Experience operating and maintaining on-wafer test equipment and wafer probers.
  • PC and software user skills as well as PC based programming skills using high level languages.
  • Experience defining specifications and procedures for test operators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related subject
  • 5+ years of applicable experience including test and measurement, high volume process monitoring systems, inspection systems, and power component or power module production.
  • Experience with interface of test equipment and automatic product handlers.
